The past year has been difficult for many of us, and we understand it has impacted some more than others. At Mars Wrigley, we believe the Super Bowl is one of the best platforms for us to connect with our audience and help bring smiles, even in a difficult year. Which is why M&M’S has aired commercials six times in the last decade.
But this year, we’re doing things a little differently. This year’s ad is rooted in insights from our community on social media, from our Associates and our own personal experiences which translates into a collective experience.
Mars Wrigley's purpose to create better moments that make the world smile. So how does an iconic brand like M&M’S use fun and humor to bring us closer together? With a little help from Emmy® award-winning actor Dan Levy—and three of the brand’s iconic spokescandies, of course.
Titled “Come Together,” the spot features a variety of ever-relatable “wow, I really shouldn’t have done that” scenarios and the people in them choosing to make it better with a bag of M&M’S. For example—the person who kicked your airplane seat when you tried to recline? Or that guy who can’t stop “mainsplaining?”
It’s the first Super Bowl commercial featuring Levy.
“I always try to take part in well-intentioned campaigns with brands that align with my sense of humor," Levy said. "One of the things I loved most about this campaign was the message about how something small—like sharing M&M'S—can help bring people together."

The full 30-second spot will air during the first commercial break following the kickoff of Super Bowl LV, which will be broadcast in the U.S. on CBS, Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021. This will be M&M'S sixth Super Bowl ad in the past decade.
Super Bowl has kicked off a monumental year for the M&M'S brand, with the 80th anniversary and recent opening of the latest Mars Retail Group footprint at Disney Springs.
